Parking is not allowed on City streets from 2:30 AM to 6:00 AM. An exemption — temporary parking permission—is granted if residents are having driveway repairs done or visitors who need overnight parking.

The Property Standards By-law (2017-26) ensures that owners properly maintain their homes and properties so that our neighbourhoods will always be attractive, safe and healthy places in which to live. These rules apply to both owned and rented dwellings.

Sanitary sewer discharge is regulated by both the City (by-law 436-86) and the Region of York (By-law S-0064-2005-009).

When homeowners plan new garden and landscaping projects, these swales must be preserved. The Site Alteration By-law ensures they are, but in general it doesn’t apply to lots smaller than one acre.
