A centre for sport excellence
In 2012, the City of Markham commissioned the Markham Pan Am Centre as a host venue for the 2015 Pan American and ParaPan American Games. Located in downtown Markham and equipped with an experienced event hosting team, it is a premier facility that can host high-performance training & competition as well as world-class events.
The Markham Pan Am Centre is a 147,000 sq ft (13,660 sq m) fully accessible venue that includes an Olympic sized swimming pool which meets World Aquatic competition standards and multiple gymnasiums that are ideal for hosting international level competitions in various sports. There are meeting rooms for hosting training sessions and video analysis available. The venue is home to a multi-level fitness centre that is open to the general public.
Since the Markham Pan Am Centre opened in 2014, it has hosted a multitude of events including: 2015 Pan Am and ParaPan Games, International Table Tennis Federation Olympic Qualification Tournament, Artistic Swimming World Cup, and Water Polo National Championships.
