Artist Material Fund Portrait Photography Workshop with Anthony Gebrehiwot

Celebrated photographer Anthony Gebrehiwot will lead a hands-on Portrait Photography Workshop exploring how compelling images can be created using reclaimed materials and resources already at hand.

Participants will learn techniques for staging portrait sets with salvaged objects, experiment with creative approaches to lighting, and consider how resourcefulness can become an integral part of photographic storytelling. Gebrehiwot will also introduce participants to the collaborative process of working with models and stylists, including communicating creative direction and developing a cohesive visual concept.

A model and stylist will join the workshop, giving participants the opportunity to observe a professional collaborative process and put these approaches into practice during a live portrait session.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own camera and come ready to experiment, collaborate, and rethink what is possible with the people, materials, and resources already around us.
